In response to Bishop Youssef Abba

Inspired by the teachings of the Lord and from the Holy Bible, “the Bible,” I start my strongly written post and remark, directed towards His Eminence, Bishop Mor Aphrem Youssef Abba (Bishop of Baghdad for the Syriac Catholics).

“Is it not written,” he asked them, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations?” But you have rendered it a den of thieves.

Indeed, Your Eminence, the Bishop, you let the murders of your family and people to pollute the sanctity and holiness of our place by attending Mass, therefore turning our holy and pure church in Baghdad into a cave for thieves and criminal killers.

Instead, you have seriously insulted our Syriac people in Baghdeda, therefore acting as high treason against us. Sadly for people like you, who sell religion. At the expense of the impoverished and bereaved victims of the terrorist event at Al-Haitham Hall “Baghdeda Wedding,” what do we expect from you, a person who has put his personal and worldly interests above Christ’s message and your ecclesiastical faith?

His dignity Bishop Youssef Abba, have you forgotten or pretended to forget the incident of Our Lady of Salvation and the blood of your brothers, the fathers (Father Waseem Subaih Youssef Kroumi, Father Boutros, and Father Thaer Saadallah Ablahad Boutros Abdel), and the gathering of believers who fell as martyrs and victims at the altar before which you stand to celebrate the Divine Mass and deliver your feeble and vile sermon of glorification, lamentation, and praise for the government and its murderous criminal militias, abandoning and denying Christ and his heavenly message!!? What led you to place your trust in the report on the Baghdeda wedding disaster produced by the investigation committee?

The sadness is that, as bishop in a holy Syriac Catholic Church, which historically has never had a deceitful and sycophantic bishop like you, you gave it legitimacy without recognizing it with this speech of yours. O “Judas Iscariot,” I know very well that the sad truth I bore witness to regarding you will be agonizing for you. Apart from Judas, what distinguishes you? As it happens, there is no… Christ turned with a kiss and money; you are doing the same to your family and your Syriac Christian people in Baghdeda, whose martyrs’ blood has not dried up until this moment; the burns of the victims of its terrible tragedy have not healed either. Sadly, you represent Christ and the greatest, most old Christian church!

Father Ephrem Youssef Abba, you have to remove your clothing and cross and leave the church to the brave and right person instead of your stupidity. The wound is very large and deep and can never pass without responsibility; hence, the honorable people of our nation and the sons of Baghdeda should not believe your lying and bankrupt words about the tragedy and should react to you in the suitable and correct manner.

This is a pledge from me that my struggle from now on will be based on the blood of the martyrs of our people and our people; this is what I am more committed to accomplish in order to expose you, embarrass you and strip you naked before the world. You have to take great attention to my words, Your Eminence the Bishop. You and all those I asked to attend the mass in the Church of the Martyrs “Our Lady of Salvation Church,” must also realize that our people and their historical territory in the Mosul Plain are not for barter or sale. This will not last long, thus know that the Lord will not abandon his children in the hands of the oppressors.

I also address these words to the traitors and agents considered as our people in Baghdeda (Baida and Durayd), that you accepted the holocaust that happened to our people in Baghdeda and sold our people for your interests and positions, but this will not last. And the criminals, those who preceded you from the despot and oppressors guilty of atrocities against their people? Ultimately, the people have to triumph unavoidably. Get what I mean, Rayan, Aswan, Badia, Dureid… Dureid, you have to realize that your remarks and threats to our people in Baghdeda regarding repeating the holocausts and killings and raising the numbers as you said reflect the qualities of cowardly followers and subordinates.

Furthermore, you should be quite aware that Baghdeda has an honorable past and is impervious to foes and strangers. As is the honorable position of Patriarch Cardinal Louis Sako and His Eminence Bishop Mar Benedictus Younan Hano, who raised our heads high and was not afraid of threats after he appeared in the media, speaking forcefully and firmly to object and reject the results of the farcical investigations announced by the Iraqi government committee and their criminal Iranian militias.

A last word I address to His Eminence Bishop Youssef Abba may his conscience prick him and his feelings and desires stir him to stand up and say the truth even if it costs him his life and money.

Not like you, His Eminence Bishop Youssef Abba, the sycophant and cowardly son of Baghdeda should be. I am sorry for the word coward I used against you; it is too tiny for you and you undervalue the brains of our people in Baghdeda when the criminal murders shown before you within the church were cleared.

The biggest catastrophe is that you accepted the lies of the investigating committee and rejected most of the analysts and professionals that showed up in different media channels to show that an agent planned and started the fire. So, His Eminence Bishop, who do we suppose to believe? Should we believe you or the professionals with experience and standing that Sherlock Holmes Youssef Aba suggests?

Then, dear bishop, has your impudence and disrespect for the feelings and emotions of the families of the martyrs and burned bodies laying in hospitals between life and death reached the point where you come to us and say this nonsense and hollow talk?

At least you would have honoured Father Boutros Chito’s emotions after losing ten members of his family. Your Eminence, the bishop, do you wonder if this catastrophe or disaster God forbid had befallen you and you had lost all your family members? Would we have heard the same words and remarks from you?
